Overview of Learning

This week, the children have been writing the story of the Little Red Hen. The children have worked really hard to remember to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops and to use their knowledge of phonics when spelling words. Next week we are planning to make our very own bread, just like the Little Red Hen, by following instructions. We will then do some shared writing to recount how we made the bread.

This week we have revisited mathematical concepts such as number, calculation, shape and measurement in order to identify what the children need more support with as we near the end of the year and prepare for the transition into Year 1. Since we are making bread next week, we will be using the language associated with quantities and measurement when measuring out the ingredients needed.
