Information and Reminders
- On Tuesday children will visit Sheshan Sculpture Park as part of their current topic “Hooray let’s go on holiday.’ Children may wear their PE clothes to attend the trip. Please can we ensure all children have enough water to last them on the trip and a small bag to transport their lunch.
- Please return any outstanding reading books or library books.
- There will be information provided next week about optional homework for the summer holidays, please check Class Dojo for more information.
- You should have received information about the class parties which will take place on Thursday 22nd June. If you have any questions please contact your child’s class teacher. Please send food in a clearly labelled container.

Star of the week
Year 1A – Kelvin Lin for working hard to contribute his ideas during class discussions & Eashan Bodhale for being a fantastic role model for Year 1A!
Year 1B - Vanessa Huang for her super story telling, plus the whole of 1B for their Class Assembly
Year 1C – Regine Lee for becoming more confident and happy to share her ideas & Kevin Xie Jia Tao for being an excellent role model for his classmates by working so hard in all areas of our learning.
In English, the children will write a recount about their trip to the sculpture park. They will include information about things they liked/disliked about the trip and try to incorporate the range of skills taught this year into their writing.
Focus: spell words containing each of the 40+ phonemes already taught, use different adjectives for effects, use capital letters, full stops and exclamation marks to demarcate sentences, five senses
In Mathematics, the children will recap the different topics covered this term through practical and interactive activities. They will be encouraged to use different strategies to help them solve different maths problems.
Next week, the children will conclude their topic ‘Hooray Let’s go on holiday.’ They will become travel agents as they try to sell the holidays they have been investigating and exploring over the past few weeks. The children will need to provide information about travel, food, accommodation and activity options.
