Sara spent the first part of her career teaching and leading English and EAL in schools in the UK, Greece and Turkey. After this, she lectured at Plymouth and Exeter Universities as a PGCE Tutor, training graduates to become teachers, and leading the Masters Level Research Course. Sara has a Masters and Doctorate in Education and also teaches Media Studies. She was a Senior Examiner for AQA and writes for a Media Magazine and publishes textbooks and student guides for Media Studies.
After leaving the UK again, she taught EAL at an online school for migrants and refugees in New Zealand using Skype, Googledocs, VoiceThread etc to teach students who were located all over the country, often hundreds of miles away. Most recently, she has been teaching English to Years 7 -13 students at NAIS Pudong where the students are a real pleasure to teach.
Sara is married to Shaun Mills who is the Head of ICT and Design Technology teacher. She has two children who also attend NAIS Pudong. Her interests include writing, travel, and photography.
