    Lesley-Ann Wallace

    Lesley-Ann Wallace joined Nord Anglia Education in 2005 after a successful international teaching career in the Middle East and Malaysia. Passionate about international education and broadening student horizons, Lesley-Ann was part of the founding team opening the British International School Shanghai, Puxi (BISS Puxi) before moving to Abu Dhabi as Principal of the British International School Abu Dhabi. In her four years in Abu Dhabi, Lesley-Ann was responsible for growing the school from 540 to 1500 students and leading the school through various school inspections and a highly successful IB Authorisation process.

    Barrie Scrymgeour

    After graduating from the University of Birmingham, Barrie’s teaching career has been mainly based around the second city of England. The three English primary schools that he worked in were mixed in their setting but all shared a high standard of education. Barrie has taught from Year 1 to 6 and held various positions of responsibility. His last role in a UK primary school was as Deputy Head and he was responsible for assessment and professional development.  He also worked in a Local Education Authority as a Teaching and Learning Consultant where he worked intensively with schools on Behaviour, Attendance and Wellbeing. This role meant he was also able to work with government, teaching organisations and universities on curriculum design and best practice.

    Carol Camargo

    Deputy Head of Secondary

    Carol Camargo

    After graduating from the University of Queensland with a Science degree majoring in Biochemistry and a Teaching degree, Carol worked in a school in Australia for three years, where she was able to develop the core skills of teaching. She then decided she was ready to move abroad and take on the challenge of learning a new curriculum and schooling system and moved to the UK. There she worked in an inner London school where she started as a secondary Science teacher but, within a few months, took on responsibility first for Key Stage 3 Science and later as Head of Science. In these roles, Carol’s aims were to improve student attainment and to develop a curriculum that engaged the students and motivated them to want to study Science further. Her last role in the UK was as an Assistant Head and in this role she was part of a leadership team that transformed a challenging inner city London school into a nationally recognised outstanding institution.

    Deputy Head of Secondary

    Therese Andrews

    Therese began teaching in North London in 2007 after gaining a PGCE at the University of Wales, Swansea and a BA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Nottingham. Prior to this, she had spent a year backpacking around the world and volunteering in a school in Thailand.

    In 2009, Therese accepted a role as Head of Geography at the British International School of Boston and was quickly promoted to Head of Middle School. During her time in Boston, Therese held responsibility for many areas of school life including leading on the International Middle Years Curriculum and Nord Anglia’s Global Campus.

    Tamara Keenan

    Tamara received her PGCE from the University of Sunderland and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media & Communication Studies with French, from the University of Wolverhampton. She has been teaching since 2002 and has gained a variety of teaching experiences in both teaching and management within Primary and the Early Years.  Five of those years she spent in our family school, British International School Abu Dhabi.

    Andrew Joy

    Andrew's first teaching job was as a VSO volunteer in Papua New Guinea. After a year working in London, he moved on to the British School of Lomé in Togo where he became Head of Mathematics, then IB Diploma Coordinator. He moved from there to BISS Puxi, firstly as Head of Mathematics and then as Head of the IB Academy. After 6 years at BISS, Andrew joined Ecole Ruban Vert, a start-up school in Libreville, Gabon as Head of Secondary before returning to BISS for two more years.
