Top Universities Visit our School

BISS Puxi has excellent relationships with Admissions Officers from a range of colleges and universities around the world, including many of the most prestigious ones and we have already had the pleasure of hosting a lot of them this academic year.

The universities that have visited us already this year include top Ivy League schools in the US such as Columbia University and Duke University, as well as excellent smaller liberal arts colleges and there are a lot more to come.

Our students have had the opportunity to participate in in-depth discussions with Admissions Officers to understand their admissions process and selection criteria, all of which is very beneficial for the IB students who are considering their university choices at the moment.

Our Higher Education Advisor, Roohi Iqbal, commented: “In planning this session and others like it, our objective is to enable our students and their families to make the most informed decisions about Higher Education plans. They provide the opportunity to learn more about what each of these universities offer, their respective admission requirements, and what admissions officers are looking for.

I have been very proud of how our students have made the most of this opportunity. The university representatives have commented on how polished and cultured our students look and that they were truly engaged and asked some really interesting questions.

One of our Year 13 IB students, Jack Sommers, has enjoyed the chance to talk with these universities: “I’m still not sure where I want to go to university. It can be so daunting, with so many options, that it’s great to have the chance to talk one-to-one with all these universities and start to get an idea of what will fit me best. It’s also been interesting to have universities visit from all around the world, as it really shows you all the options available to us.”

Jack is thinking about studying either engineering or economics at university and also wants to continue studying Mandarin.

Below are the universities that we have hosted so far and coming up in October we are expecting visits from John Hopkins University and George Washington University, as well as the University of Cambridge from UK and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
