This year we have new Heads of School for both Primary and Secondary, and here they tell us a bit about themselves and why they chose to join the BISS Puxi community.
Christopher Share, Head of Secondary
“Coming from The British International School of Warsaw, also a Nord Anglia Education school, I am pleased to be able to continue my career within the Nord Anglia Education family. Being part of this group of schools provides so many opportunities for the students to get involved and interact with other student populations from around the world. This makes studying at BISS Puxi a really unique experience.
The British International School, Puxi’s reputation for innovation and being ahead of the curve was something I was very much attracted by. We’re cutting edge in many ways, including in our use of technology both in terms of education as well as in communicating with parents. The facilities here are first class and most importantly of all, the people are what makes the school. I was very impressed by the staff, all of whom are chosen with such care and diligence that we really do get the right people for the right job, and that really shows in our students’ results.
We strive for top quality in everything we do, providing the best opportunities for students to grow both academically, as well as in other areas to develop into well rounded individuals, and I’m excited to be joining such a vibrant community.”
Niki Meehan, Head of Primary
“It feels really positive to continue my career as a school leader within Nord Anglia Education, building on the professional experience gained working as a Head of Primary in our sister school in Bratislava, Slovakia for the past 5 years. I was attracted to the challenges of working within a bigger school environment and impressed by the British International School, Puxi’s approach to being a genuinely forward thinking international school.
It is really exciting to join such a highly skilled staff team on their journey to being a really unique and outstanding school, striving to prepare our young people to have the values, attitudes and attributes needed for their future lives.
I respect the drive for academic excellence but also like being part of a school where learning is personalised to allow all our students to thrive as individuals and “rounded” people, but with a real sense of community. I love the vibrancy of Asia and the diversity of an international school community, so the British International School, Puxi, with its amazing students, skilled staff and fantastic facilities, seemed like a perfect fit for me but also a great school for my 2 daughters.”
