Our primary school netball and rugby teams

Rugby

Under 11
Last Saturday, the three teams from the BISS Lions U11 rugby squad played two home games each.  If you were in Division 1, you had to work very hard to give your part in the games we played – and even harder to play Dulwich Suzhou, our toughest rival team.

Thanks to our Year 12 rugby player-coaches, Luca and Austin, who trained us up, we could practise our now flawless rucking and tackling skills. Division 2 had a competitive weekend playing against each other with a superb intensity and sportsmanship.

Mr Halililo gave us an uplifting BISS Lions rugby team chat and our favourite ever quote –‘It’s not the fall you should care about, it’s getting back up that’s important’.

A big cheer for Xanthe, who is the first girl in BISS Lions history to play rugby for the team. Well done BISS Lions!

- Thomas Roberts, 6S

Under 9

The U9 rugby team played some great rugby on Saturday and showed the skills we have been working on in training. Both of our teams scored tries thanks to great team work going forward and the fact that we moved the ball a lot faster. A special mention to Michael who used his strength to break through the opposition’s defence and Carlos for making some great try saving tackles.

- Rasmus Brandt, 4S

Netball

The netball team continue to improve and played very well at the weekend against Dulwich Shanghai and Suzhou.

They won two of their three games against a strong opposition and had great fun at the same time.

- Coach Linda Harding
