In class, Year 1 have been reading a variety of stories including Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and Beauty and the Beast. They have learned how to use interesting vocabulary to write their own versions of classic fairy tale stories which they shared with the other Year 1 classes during a special reading session.
Today was the climax of all their hard work as they came into school dressed as their favourite fairy tale character to celebrate Fairy Tale Day.
There were fierce dragons, beautiful princesses, handsome princes and courageous knights, to mention just a few!
The afternoon saw the children take part in a variety of fun craft activities and games including making prince and princess crowns and playing dress up the teacher!
At the end of the day the children enjoyed a special Fairy Tale Day snack provided by our wonderful parents. Thank you to all of our parents and teachers in the Year 1 team who helped to organise this wonderful experience for the students to round off their Fairy tale unit.
