Mrs Sarah Wild Weekly Update 19th June

This week on Wednesday, Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, an environmental engineer from VNCPC (Vietnam Cleaner Production Centre) came to speak to the Secondary students about the problems with water sustainability.

She made students more aware of the different types of water pollution and the impact this will have on nature and lives of future generations. She also suggested how students could make small changes that would have an impact and how they could get involved with organisations in Hanoi. We will certainly be making links with some of these organisations, so that students, who are interested, can do their community service helping locally.

In the past two weeks, it has been of great value to meet again with all the parents from Secondary and have an opportunity to talk about individual student progress and well-being. The information we share is invaluable, as is your feedback. The term is nearly over, but students are still working hard. I am very much looking forward to the activities at the end of next week, when students will work in house teams and have an opportunity to apply many of the skills they have acquired this year. Can I remind parents that it is very important that the students attend until the end of term, as holiday work will be given out to students. Please remember that learning will continue in the last week. It is also important that students celebrate together each other’s successes. That is an important aspect of school life.

Please make sure that you have planned for your child to continue to study over the summer, in particular all students need to keep studying English every day. Some students are able to study independently, but others will need support. We will send you another email with advice about this, but you can also please refer to our portal for our advice.
