Mr Mark Sayer Weekly Update: Orientation Day

Photographs and a brief summary of the day are already on Facebook (Orientation Day album) for parents and friends to see but what a lovely day it was to see so many new students arriving and to welcome back some of last year’s students to the occasion.

It was more of a celebration as we witnessed many excellent student performances, and I am grateful to Hoang Minh, Thi Huong Thao (Y11), Quang Tien (Y9) and Minh Viet (Y3) for their excellent musical recitals.  It was also lovely to be able to include Donkey Bakery staff in the events with their final dance.  Very many thanks to all of the parents who attended this special beginning of year day.

The children and staff are so excited to finally be getting under way with the new school year and there is already a very purposeful attitude around school.  The classrooms look fantastic and there are many creative displays that engage students in enquiry and learning.  New staff are settling quickly and well after their days of induction and training and I would refer you to the webpage BVIS Hanoi Academic staff if you would like to read their short biographies.

The first full week begins in earnest next week and there is plenty going on for parents with the ‘Meet the Teachers’ sessions to which all Primary parents are invited.  It would be great if we could have 100% attendance by at least one of the parents as there are some important messages from the Head of Section for you as we look ahead through the coming year.

I wish you all a very happy weekend and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible in the near future.
