It will be a year full of challenges and achievements, discovery and exploration, but above all else, fun. Children learn best when they are happy and engaged in their own learning and when they are aware of how they need to improve. We are developing independent confident learners who will be empowered with the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to succeed in an ever changing international world and work market place.
Next Thursday, 3rd September, at 5pm, it will be your first opportunity to meet your child’s class teachers. Each class will deliver the same presentation on school routines and expectations and offer explanations on topics important to parents. If you have more than one child you can choose any teacher’s presentation to attend and then when this has finished you will be able to meet your other children’s teachers and ask any questions you may have.
Partnerships with parents are extremely important so we like to offer a number of information sessions each term so you get to know us, we get to know you and we can all work together to help further improve the experience and progress of your children. Here are a few key dates for the term:
Tuesday 15th September 9am, EYFS ECA Workshops
Wednesday 28th October 9am, F3-Y4 Phonics Session
November 14th 1pm, 17th 9am, 18th 5pm, Assessments and Reporting Information Sessions
We will have many other events during the term including Book Week where children will come in on Friday 9th October dressed as their favourite book character, so please do get organized with a costume. We will also be holding a disco for KS1 and KS2, day trips for every year group, parent teacher meetings, IPC exit points, sports days and EYFS and KS1 productions. You will also receive a report on your children’s progress towards the end of term. All these events will be advertised separately so please do read all communication from school.
I hope your children have had a lovely start to their year and we all look forward to working together over the course of the year.
