Parents and Carers were invited to come and join the children in exploring a myriad of science activities centred around the different aspects of Science: materials, sound, light, space and forces. The children enjoyed playing with oobleck, racing magnetic cars around a racetrack using a magnetic wand, watching raisins ‘dance’ in vinegar, experimenting with floating and sinking toys, finding out which materials are magnetic (and which ones are not), listening to the different sounds they could make, using a lightbox to look at colours and materials in a new way, mixing together food colouring and baking soda and they loved using a balloon to pick up coloured paper- as if by magic! The children, who now all want to be scientists, loved having their parents there to help them explore all of these science activities.  It was a fantastic morning and we cannot wait to put on this event again next year!
