Dear All,

We have had a really busy week at school with so many exciting things going on.

Our volleyball teams had some terrific success over BIS. Our Under 14 teams have just started playing this year, but to watch them you wouldn’t believe it. The skill and teamwork they are displaying is really very strong, and I commend them on their commitment and enthusiasm which has enabled them to progress so quickly. My thanks to the PE staff for their dedication in training the students.

It’s been Pi week and all around the school the Maths department have been involving us in Pi teasing problems. Other teasers have been asked of us all with some very close up photos of all things scientific in the Science corridor. Thank you to the Maths and Science staff for making our walks around the school such an interactive experience.

Last friday I was incredibly fortunate to be involved with the music competition auditions. We had twenty five musicians from all year groups playing their choice of music to get into the final, which is held this Friday. I was in awe of the talent on offer and it made the job of judging very difficult - what a shame that we could only have 6 in the final. So impressed were we that we will look to have the students that didn’t make it to the final performing in other school events. I would like to particularly praise Minh Tri who was brave enough to be the only musician to perform a jazz piece that he had written himself.

Next week is our second and final week of mock exams for our IGCSE and A Level students. I would like to wish them all the very best of luck. This will be their last chance to have a formal practice exam before the main exams in May. For our IGCSE Art students they are actually in their exam at the moment - their exam lasts for many hours and will culminate in the week after the main mock exams. They are working incredibly hard and I would like to thank Ms Corkery for the hours she is giving up to enable the students to produce their best work.

I hope you all have a great week ahead.

Mr. Nick Lee - Head of Secondary
