Firstly, I would like to send my congratulations to all of our Year 11 and 12 students. This week saw the last of their IGCSE and AS Level exams. It has been a very long and tough month of exams and all of us have been very proud of the way that these young people have managed to prepare themselves to do the best that they can. We will wish them well for when the results come out in August.
I would also like to congratulate all of our other students for completing their end of year exams.
To celebrate the end of exams the Year 11 students will next week be going on their year group trip to Cat Ba, and the Year 12’s to Hue. In addition to this, we have 6 Year 10 students going to HCMC to take part in a student leadership conference. At this conference, our students will come together with others from around the region to look at how to develop their leadership skills and reflect on the role of leadership. I wish all the students going away this week a safe journey and hope they get the most out of these brilliant opportunities.
I was delighted to speak to so many parents at this week’s Year 7 Parent Evening. I am always amazed at how well our students in Years 11 and 12 cope with the pressure of exams, but equally as challenging is the move into the Secondary section in Year 7. The evening demonstrated how much more confident our Year 7s have become, and what progress the vast majority of them have made in their first year in the Secondary school. Their attitude to learning stands them in great stead for the future challenges.
Next week, we welcome the Year 10 parents to school. This is a vitally important evening as it serves as a check on the progress their children are making at the halfway point of their IGCSE courses. I look forward to seeing you all there.
I hope you all have a great week ahead.
