Principal Weekly Update 12/01/2018 from Mr Mark Sayer
Principal Weekly Update 12/01/2018 from Mr Mark Sayer I would like to welcome you back to this new year and new term.  It is wonderful to see all of our returning students and over 30 new students too enjoying the teaching and learning opportunities available to them.  As I have wandered through each building in this first week, I have seen plenty of evidence of both: authoritative and informative teaching; purposeful and busy classroom environments; engaged and happy students, glad to be back in friendly stimulating environments.  It is a joy to see.

I would like to welcome you back to this new year and new term.

This term again promises to be full and exciting.  Examinations preparations are in earnest for most of the top 4 year groups.  The joint Council of International Schools and WASC Accreditation Report will soon be available to us, having been slightly held up by the Christmas and New Year festive period and we will be scrutinizing this to be in a position to share with our community.  It promises to be a very positive statement about the quality of educational provision and school management that you as parents have come to expect.

Succession planning in Primary for the departure of our head teacher, Nick West, to take up his first principal's post at the new Nord Anglia Chinese International School in Ningbo is complete with the appointment of Dr Nici Wood.  She is very excited about this new opportunity and has made a very positive impression thus far.  As ever, we are committed to finding the best available staff to continue the great work of educating your children.
As one would expect, at a time of new beginnings, the place is buzzing with energy.  Just what we need to counteract the cold January start.
I wish you a very happy weekend.
