A very warm welcome back and a Happy New Year to you all.
As you will have seen from the letter I sent out this week, BVIS has been successful in attaining the Council of International Schools full accreditation. This is fantastic news for the school community. We firmly believe that what we offer here is of a very high international standard, is unique and also prepares all our young people well for future life. This independent, international recognition serves to validate that belief and give us even more confidence as we move forward as a school. An outstanding school of course is developed through a strong partnership between staff, students, parents and the wider community and I am both proud and delighted that this has proven to be the case. We have received a full detailed report that contains many, many commendations and further useful advice on how we can develop the school even further. Over the coming weeks and months I will be sharing this information with the school community.
We have started this year at a fast pace and have launched our international week for primary and secondary students. In all subjects and year groups across the school I have witnessed teachers and students engaging with exciting topics, activities and work focused on a wide range of countries around the world. A wonderful way to start the term which has created a vibrancy and excitement around the school.
There is another very busy half term ahead, so please ensure that you keep up to date with emails, letters and the news hub as there are some very important events happening. These include; mock examinations for Year 11,12 and 13 students, residential trips for Years 7,8,9 and 10 students and the wonderful TET celebrations at the end of the month. It promises to be another very special half term for all concerned.
I wish you all a very relaxing weekend.
