After a fantastic trips week with Year 9, I spent the first two days of this week up in Hanoi at our sister school, BIS, attending the Nord Anglia South East Asia Regional Conference. As well as picking up some useful ideas, it was a good chance to meet with colleagues from other schools and forge stronger ties.
The Global Campus is something that all Nord Anglia schools have access to, and provides a wealth of opportunities for all our students. Those heading to Tanzania in March have already been engaging with it, but all students have a login and password to access the site which is here: http://bvhochiminh.learn.nae.school/. Take time with your child to look at the site, which is completely safe and secure, and discover with them some of what they can become involved with. There is a global library, for instance, and ways of contacting other students from the around the world.
Global Awareness is something we have really focused on this year. This Friday and Saturday, our Model United Nations club are going across to BIS for an MUN student conference. We’re looking forward to hearing all about it next week.
Another club, this one completely student-run, is the Science Constructors Club. They set up a murder mystery this week, with Harry in year 12 found dead in the secondary reception on Monday! (Fortunately he made a full recovery to attend all of his lessons). Students were challenged to discover the murderer…before it’s too late… Results and winners next week!
We already have the results and winners in for the Secondary Swimming City Championships, however, and once again we saw the sporting prowess that is now so prevalent at BVIS. No fewer than six winners, more can be read here.
And so we move to the final week of term. It’s been long and eventful, but there’s plenty going on next week. On Wednesday at 9.30am, please do come along for our Secondary Assembly in the main hall when we celebrate all the achievements of the last 15 weeks. And on Friday, of course, we have our second ever staff pantomime!
Have a wonderful weekend.
