Learning to be Global Citizens at BVIS
Children in the Primary school have many opportunities to develop as global citizens. Here are a few examples this week:
- Yesterday, an excited team of 21 children from Years 4, 5 and 6 left with Mr Steve, Mr Tam and Ms Mai for the FOBISIA games in Bangkok, Thailand. The children will be taking part in a range of sporting competitions this weekend against children from other leading schools in south-east Asia. As well as developing their physical skills they will, of course, have the wonderful opportunity to mix with children from other schools and countries, developing their personal and social skills.
- A large number of Primary children have taken part in clubs last term and this term through Nord Anglia Education’s “Global Campus”. The clubs have been popular with the teachers and children and we will continue to offer some of them next year: “Global Cinema”, “Big Draw” and “Bucket Drumming.”
- I am delighted to announce that children in the bucket drumming club run by Mr Fergus have been selected for the regional award of “Best Rhythmic Groove” in south-east Asia!
