Mr Paul Holyome Weekly Update - 13/01/2017

Dear parents

On Sunday we will be hosting our annual Tet festival here on the school site. We have over 1000 people registered to attend and it promises to be another amazing celebration. Please be reminded entrance to the festival is by invitation ticket only. Please also note that the gates will not open until 8.30am, please do not arrive any earlier than this. I am sure you will all enjoy the many games, exhibitions, food, performances and delights that we have set up for your family and friends. Tet is a very special time of year in Vietnam and we are very proud to be embracing this celebration at BVIS. It is always one of my most favourite events of the year. I would like to thank all our staff in advance for their amazing efforts in preparing for such a big event.

As you know one of the huge benefits of our school being part of a group of 43 schools worldwide is the opportunity it affords our children to engage in worldwide events and activities. You are already aware of the collaboration with Juilliard and the positive impact this has had on music provision and inspiration. We are engaging more and more in the global campus activities and events and this bodes well for our students enhanced understanding of global initiatives. I am delighted to announce that NAE have been successful in forming a partnership with UNICEF. This is very exciting news for us as we look to encourage our children and community to look outside their own homes and country to other issues facing the world population. UNICEF have set all 43 schools a global challenge. We are delighted to be taking part in this challenge and are currently finalising the details. You will receive more information about how our school, children and community will embrace this opportunity just after the Tet holiday.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the Tet festival on Sunday morning

Have a relaxing weekend

Paul Holyome
