Secondary Update

It’s back to normal lessons this week after the excitement of International Week. Although we have only a short period of school before the Tet break, it’s important that everyone is focused on their learning.

To help with that, and to keep up the high standards and expectations at BVIS, we are having an extra focus on areas which can lead to the disruption of learning. Please help us to help your children by reminding them to abide by the school rules and expectations, in particular:

  • arriving on time to school and lessons
  • being in the correct uniform at all times
  • completing homework on time and to the required standard
  • having the correct equipment for lessons
  • no mobile phones or headphones around school.

Reports have gone out today for students in years 11-13, including their mock examination grades. Next week, and directly after Tet, you will have the chance to discuss these grades and any other issues with your child’s subject teachers. Parents evenings are as follows:

Tuesday, 17 January              4pm-6.30pm               Year 11

Thursday, 19 January             4pm – 6.30pm            Year 12

Tuesday, 7 February               4pm-6.30pm               Year 13

Thursday, 9 February              4pm-6.30pm               Year 10

You can make appointments by following the link to the online booking system that you will have been sent this week. If you do not receive the link, or have changed your email address, please contact the school.

This Sunday is of course the biggest event of our school year, our annual BVIS Tet Festival. It’s my last one, and one of the many events that I’ll miss so much. I do hope to see as many of you as possible here on Sunday from 8.30am.

Have a fantastic weekend!
