This week in the Primary School

Sporting events in the Primary School

Yesterday our U11 boys’ football team, coached by Mr Gavin, competed in the city championships. They beat EIS and BIS to reach the semi-finals when they lost in their match ISSP with a penalty shootout. Very dramatic!

However in the match to decide 3rd/4th places, our boys beat AMIS to finish 3rd place overall. Congratulations to the whole team! Our goal and penalty scorers were: Linh Vinh, Duc Tri, Bang (2), Jay Bao (3), Sam and Dan Khoi.

Next week 12 boys and 12 girls from Years 4, 5 and 6 will travel to Phuket, Thailand with Mr Andy, Ms Claire and Mr Tam for the FOBISIA games. They will compete against schools from other international schools in South-East Asia and we wish them luck!

Throughout the year BVIS Primary students work towards and participate in sporting events. These include:

  • Sports mornings for all age groups (held this year in January).
  • Regular fixtures for our various girls and boys sports teams, playing against other schools’ teams.
  • City championships when our sports teams compete against the other international schools in HCMC.
  • FOBISIA games.
  • Swim galas for all children in Years 1 – 6. This year these will take place at these times:

Year 1 Swim Festival – Tuesday 6th June at 08:40 – 10:20

Year 2 Swim Festival – Tuesday 6th June at 10:45 – 12:25

Year 3 and Year 4 Swim Gala – Thursday 8th June at 08:40 – 10:20

Year 5 and Year 6 Swim Gala – Thursday 8th June at 10:45 – 12:25
