Eco Week

This week has been Eco Week in the Primary School. Environmental learning is part of our curriculum across the school this term but here’s a roundup of some of the things we focussed on this week:

  • We wore green on Wednesday for our special assembly and throughout the day to help us all think about what we use and how much we waste.

Even BVIS adults wore green!

  • Teachers and children have attempted to have lessons without paper this week! We have found it incredibly challenging but hopefully it has helped us to remember how precious our planet and its resources are.

  • In our special assembly on Wednesday, Y5 children told us about their “Bye Bye Plastic Bags” campaign. Very soon your family will receive a re-usable bag to use instead of plastic bags.

  • Our ALEC club have been selling their harvested herbs from their garden. Did you know that ALEC children have also been working with a local school to create a garden?
