Karen Hanratty: Staff Profile

Karen Hanratty | NIS international school Jakarta

Interim Principal (to 31 December 2017)

Karen is a British qualified educator with over 30 years’ experience in teaching, leadership, advisory and inspection roles, both in the UK and overseas.  She holds a Bachelor of Education in Science and Education as well as a Diploma in Advanced Educational Studies.

Karen has previously held positions as a Primary Headteacher in Harrow International School, Bangkok and the British International School, Hanoi, which is also a Nord Anglia Education school.  She spent three years as a school improvement consultant for the Ministry of Education in Bahrain as well as having a wide experience of school inspection.

Karen is passionate about education and believes that every child deserves our very best efforts at all times.  She comes to Jakarta with her husband, Peter.
