Almost 60 students in Year 10 began their work experience program. For an entire week, students have an opportunity to experience life in the world of work, develop the skills that they have been learning in school and begin their first steps towards a future career. A large number of companies and institutions in the area have worked hard to arrange programs and activities for students so that they get a true feel for what it’s like to work there. The range of placements taken by the students make this the biggest work experience program that has ever happened here at the British International School Abu Dhabi. Placements in the Seychelles and Ireland also reflect the international nature of our students.
Student activities will include observing surgeries in hospitals, physiotherapy, working with athletes, giving presentations to senior managers, learning professional culinary skills, teaching, morning radio shows and much more. Students will be set projects to complete over the course of the week and reflect on what they have learned when they return to school.
