Staggered Start Times for Early Years Foundation Stage
Staggered Start Times for Early Years Foundation Stage The team aim to ensure your child settles as quickly and happily as possible into their new class setting. To further ease your child’s transition into school, the first two weeks of the new school year will be staggered for our youngest FS starters and the first week staggered for our FS2 starters. Not only will this support your child to gently and confidently adjust to their new environment but it also provides a valuable opportunity to chat with the class teacher and receive feedback about these important first few days at school.

FOUNDATION STAGE 1

The new school term begins officially on Sunday 30th August 2015. To further ease your child’s transition into school, the first two weeks of the new school year will be staggered for our youngest FS1 starters between Sunday 30th August – Thursday 10th September 2015.

Not only will this support your child to gently and confidently adjust to their new environment but it also provides a valuable opportunity to chat with the class teacher and receive feedback about these important first few days at school.

The information below outlines the transition timings into school for your child. Parents of the new FS1 starters are invited, if they so wish, to stay with their child for a short period during the first week. Please note, on the first two weeks of school there will be no bus provision for FS1 students.

From Sunday 13th September 2015 onwards, classes will follow the usual FS1 timings. The school day therefore begins at 7.45am for all children. As the parent of an FS1 child there is a choice of end of day collection timings, an FS1 child may be collected at either 1.00pm daily or 2.30pm daily. NB: Please note that there is an end of day school bus provision at 2:30pm only.

If you are at all unsure about exactly which end of day collection time will best meet the needs of your child, then please do not hesitate to discuss this with the class teacher – during either the Orientation Day or Week 1 of school.
