I have been teaching mainly children in the Early Years and KS1, for twenty-one years. I trained and qualified as a teacher in London and have worked in Britain, Mexico, Italy, Indonesia and Ethiopia. I have previously held various coordinator positions such as visual arts, student teacher tutor, school year book coordinator, ICT and most recently, coordinator for the International Primary Curriculum. I have been directly involved in organising Transition programs for children moving from Foundation stage to KS1. I have also completed a Masters (Msc) in Psychology.
I wholeheartedly agree with the philosophy that as practitioners, it is our duty to ensure that each child is given the chance to reach their full potential. By providing stimulating, active learning experiences and acknowledging their individual interests, we can help children become independent and well-rounded individuals.
I enjoy running and have completed two marathons in my time as well as some other races such as a couple of half-marathons, 5ks and 10ks. I enjoy running in Abu Dhabi despite the heat! I absolutely love books and watching a good movie to relax! I am joined BIS Abu Dhabi with my husband Jamie, the Director of Sport (and my personal trainer!) and our twins, George and Grace. We are all very happy to be part of the BIS Abu Dhabi family.
