I have spent the last 5 years working in an outstanding primary school in Derbyshire. During my time there, I worked in a Year 2 classroom, and in a Foundation Stage 2 unit. I find working with some of the youngest children in school incredibly rewarding. It’s so lovely to see their little characters grow, and to watch them transition into confident, independent learners.
I now feel ready for a new challenge, moving abroad has always been on the cards for me, and I cannot wait to combine two of my passions – teaching and travelling!
I am a very active person, and a priority of mine is keeping fit and healthy. I enjoy gymnastics, yoga and have recently started climbing. Music is another interest of mine. I have played the keyboard and the guitar for over 10 years, and used to play lead guitar within a band in my home town. I love to bring music to the classroom, and find it a great tool for learning, and for sharing my own passions with the children. Last year, my children learnt lots of new songs – from traditional camp fire songs to bands like The White Stripes! I also love to travel. I have travelled around South East Asia, trekked around the west coast of Canada and trained teachers in the slums of Nakuru, Kenya.
