I graduated from The University of the West of England, Bristol in 2001 with a Degree in English with Qualified Teacher Status. I taught for 10 years on the Isle of Wight, a beautiful island in the South of England. During those 10 years I was lucky to gain experience teaching and leading The Foundation Stage, teaching Years 1 and 2 and also coordinating and teaching sport for KS1 & 2. I was also part of the Senior Management Team that enabled me to see the other side of classroom teaching.
My passion in education truly lies with observing and developing younger children as they grow and learn. I believe it is the most rewarding place to teach within any school! I have been teaching a Reception Class for the past two years at BISS Puxi Shanghai and I am extremely excited about being able to continue to develop my teaching within Foundation Stage 2 at BIS Abu Dhabi. After 6 years in Shanghai, my husband and my sons who will also be part of the BIS Abu Dhabi community cannot wait to begin our new family adventure in Abu Dhabi.
Moving overseas 6 years ago was probably the hardest thing I have ever done and taking a young family with me was a challenge. However, it was the best decision I have ever made both for me personally and also for my family. I love to travel and explore new places and living in Asia as allowed us to visit many beautiful and exciting countries. It has been important for me to allow my sons to experience different cultures as they have grown up and learn respect and understanding towards different cultures. In my free time I love to brunch and eat out with friends. I try to stay fit and hope being in Abu Dhabi will offer me new incentives to continue that!
