Laura Griffiths

Ms Griffiths graduated from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff,  with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Physical Education, then going on to complete a PGCE in 2011.

Having always loved sport and PE, from a young age I knew that my ambition was to become a PE teacher. In 2010 I graduated from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff,  with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Physical Education. I then went on to complete a PGCE, again in UWIC, from which I graduated in 2011.

After completing a number of long term supply contracts in schools across South Wales, in 2013 I secured my first full time position at West Monmouth School in Pontypool. I started as a PE teacher and within two years was promoted to Teacher in charge of PE. In addition to teaching across secondary key stages, I also worked very closely with feeder primary schools from which I gained experience of working with KS1 and KS2 pupils.

After being at West Monmouth School for 4 years, I decided that it is time for a new challenge. By moving to Abu Dhabi I am hoping to broaden my horizons and enhance my knowledge about other cultures. I am excited to work in a school with an excellent worldwide reputation and an ethos that I passionately believe in.

In my spare time I enjoy socialising, travelling and taking part in sport and physical activity. Although I will try my hand at any sport, netball and football would be my chosen sports. I am a very passionate Welsh rugby fan and yes, embarrassingly I am one of those ones who shout at the TV!
