I always had a passion for languages at school so decided to study French and Spanish at the University of Sheffield. I absolutely loved living abroad so, following my degree, I moved to France to teach English at the University of Valenciennes and then moved to Seville, Spain where I taught in KS1 for 4 years.
I was in my home city of Liverpool for 6 years teaching Years 1 and 2 as well as delivering French and Spanish to students aged between 3 and 11. I have also been part of the school leadership team for 2 years running our Creative Curriculum, events with LFC and music projects linked to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. I have organised and travelled on international trips to Belgium and Spain so that our school band from Liverpool could travel to Seville and perform for Spanish link schools there and alongside well known spanish orchestras! Over the 6 years I helped run international projects in Africa visiting link schools in the West African country of Sierra Leone.
I have family who live in the UK, Ireland, Kenya, South Africa and Australia so love travelling as much as I can to visit them! I am a big Liverpool Football Club supporter and also love following the tennis at Wimbledon every year! I play tennis regularly and also have a passion for the theatre and dancing. Having lived in Europe for most of my life, I am extremely happy in Abu Dhabi, embracing new languages, people, cultures and traditions. I love bringing my enthusiasm for learning to the classroom and encouraging a real sense of enquiry and curiosity of the world amongst the children here at the British International School of Abu Dhabi!
