I have been teaching for over five years and in this time I have taught across Early Years, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. My previous leadership roles include Head of Year, Physical Education coordinator and mentor to PGCE students. Achievements within my career include gaining ‘outstanding’ in an OFSTED lesson and being noted in the report, forming and developing the gymnastics team to participate in regional competitions and leading the restructuring of the outdoor provision within Early Years. After teaching for two years in Abu Dhabi at Brighton College I am excited to be part of the BIS Abu Dhabi team. The decision to apply for BIS Abu Dhabi was due to its outstanding reputation in the city and the opportunity for continuing professional development.
I am a keen traveller and have visited over 25 countries – I aspire to be a member of the ‘Traveller’s Century Club’ one day. One of my passions is photography and Sophie, my one year old daughter, is often the focus of my photos. On the weekend I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, with varying degrees of success. I love the climate in Abu Dhabi and enjoy spending days on the beach with my family. Drama is one of my passions in the classroom and when in the UK I relish the opportunity to attend West End shows, especially musicals.
BIS Abu Dhabi is different to all others I have worked at because it is part of a global family who work together to ensure outstanding outcomes for all pupils. The professional development programme available to staff is fantastic and I am looking forward in continuing to enhance my skill set as a teacher.
