After graduating from King Alfred’s University in Winchester I gained my first teaching post in West London. I spent 5 years there working with children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 4. I also took on the role of PSHE&C and Science Co-ordinator and became Lower Key Stage 2 Co-ordinator.
In 2009, I was selected to participate in an overseas trip to South Africa to observe good practice of ‘Vocational Education and Alternative Teaching.’ This opportunity reinforced my desire to teach in an international setting and in 2010 I gained a teaching post at an international school in Shanghai, China. Whilst in Shanghai, I taught in Year 2 and Year 3 and was promoted to Year 3 Year Leader. After 5 years in Shanghai, I decided it was time to continue my international journey with the BIS Abu Dhabi team.
I have a range of interests and in particular love travelling. I have been fortunate to travel around many countries in Asia and have loved learning about the different cultures and sampling a range of cuisines. I am an enthusiastic reader and I enjoy the Arts; visiting museums, art galleries and the theatre.
