Year 4 Teacher

Mr. Hodges graduated with a (B.A Hons) in Primary Education at Liverpool John Moores University in 2003.

After graduating, I began a job in North Liverpool teaching Year 5. I remained at the school for 10 years, working across a range of year groups as well as co-ordinating Design Technology across the whole school.

Furthermore, I coached both rugby and cricket teams within the school and took an active role in the drama productions both behind the scenes and on stage. I have always felt that teachers should employ a wide range of approaches and experiences in the classroom so in order to broaden my teaching experiences I accepted a job in Shanghai for a year followed by taking my current role in BIS Abu Dhabi. These schools have already given me a wealth of multi-cultural experiences and I am looking forward to many more.

When I am not in the classroom I am most likely to be found on the sports field. Whether it be rugby, which I have played for 30 years, cricket or any other sport that I can turn my hand to, I am never happier than when I am running around, working as part of a team. Cooking and baking are also passions of mine hence the need to keep active. My young son does not know it yet, but I have a feeling that my future years will be spent on the sidelines cheering him on.
