I have had the fortune to work in several fantastic schools both urban and rural, where I mainly taught in Key stage 2 in addition to some teaching across Key stages 1 and 3. During this time I have been responsible for coordinating Humanities, Primary/Secondary transition, residential visits, risk assessment as well as school council. I have also ran a wide variety of after school clubs including football, rugby, tag rugby and cricket as well as fantasy football.
It was always an ambition of mine to experience working and living abroad with my family and I felt the challenge presented to me by BIS Abu Dhabi was too good an opportunity to miss. The fact this would be in Abu Dhabi added extra appeal and so far, I have had a very memorable time! An added bonus is working as part of the Nord Anglia group which may present other opportunities around the Globe at some point in the future.
Born and bred in the North-East of England, I am married to Nicola and have 2 young daughters called Grace and Amelia. I have an active life outside of school and am sports mad. My main passion was playing rugby until a serious injury put an end to that nearly 5 years ago. However, I also enjoy football, golf and training regularly at the gym. I have a lot of metal in my right leg due to the various injuries over the years and having traced my family tree, it seems the bionic man is a distant relative of mine!
