I have lived in the UAE for sometime now. Seven years were spent teaching in Dubai where I was a Year Six leader before specialising in Primary ICT.
My role involved setting up and running the ICT department of a very large Junior School, delivering a relevant and stimulating curriculum to Key Stage One and Two.
After an 18 month maternity leave and a move to Abu Dhabi I decided that I wanted to return to the mainstream classroom, hence my arrival at The British International School, Abu Dhabi.
Prior to moving to the UAE I taught in Primary Schools in the Midlands and West London. Before moving into the teaching profession where I worked for the Metropolitan Police Service within their Advertising and Marketing Department. I hold a BA Hons in History from Kings College, London and a Masters in ICT and Education from Leeds University. My teaching qualification was undertaken in conjunction with Brunel University.
I have two young daughters. They certainly keep me busy when I am not at work. Most weekends are spent outside enjoying all the wonderful activities that Abu Dhabi and Dubai offer to families.
My class know all about my passion for horses and what better place to be than in the UAE where the horse is held in such great esteem. When my daughters have settled for the night that is my time to head to the stables and spend time with my beautiful horse.
