I initially worked in the private sector as an environmental consultant and nautical scientist before pursuing a career in education. After teaching for several years, I resumed my studies and successfully completed a Graduate Diploma in Computer Education followed by a Master of Education.
I have spent the last 15 years teaching overseas and have taught in Australia, Japan, Bahrain and am currently enjoying the tropical climes and charms of Malaysia. During my time overseas I have held positions as Head of Department and Head of Key Stage and taught computing and science from Key stage 2 through to Key stage 5.
I am an avid rugby fan and enjoy watching the Wallabies play, though not quite so much when they are losing. I pursue a variety of hobbies and interests including mountain biking, running and reading. I am married to Thelma, who is also a teacher, and am the proud father of two sons, that I seem to spend a lot of time trying to keep up with.
