Hi, I’m Tracey Phillips, I recently celebrated a milestone birthday! I lived in London as a child, through my studies and when I first started teaching, but I have been living in Cambridgeshire for the past 15 years. I am a real dog lover though mine, two gorgeous Chihuahuas, unfortunately cannot come with me, the flight is too long! I have always had dogs, they are great for exercise and for relaxing with too. I am one of four children, my big sister and brother live near my parents in Cambridgeshire but I also have a sister living in Australia, I visit her whenever I can.
During my career I have experienced a range of roles, teaching across the primary age range, from Nursery to Year 6, in a variety of schools. I have taught in the UK and Spain following the National Curriculum and the Early Years Curriculum and worked to develop a creative curriculum, providing enhanced learning opportunities and special events. I have a Bachelors Education Honours degree, teaching within the primary age range. I have taught across the subjects and have led core subjects at different periods in my career, both Maths and English, but have also led on other subjects including the Creative curriculum and IT. I have achieved the certificate in Education for Gifted and Talented from Oxford Brookes and attained the National Professional Qualification for Headship. I have been a school leader at different levels as Head and Deputy and I am thoroughly enjoying being directly involved in, and impacting on, pupils' learning experiences and am now looking for new and fresh challenges.
I am passionate about learning and strive to develop children’s thinking beyond the curriculum and build a thirst for knowledge and the skills to take with them in life. The learning environment both within and outside school is crucial in supporting and developing learning. All children deserve to be given the opportunities to achieve to learn and develop a desire to learn and achieve. I strongly believe that the pastoral care of children is at the core of what we do and provide all children the best opportunities and experiences. Learning should be creative, inspiring and fun!
I enjoy travelling, having travelled around the world and spent most of my holidays over the past 20 years travelling and spending time in Australia, with my sister and her family. I have also spent a year travelling around the world including spending time in Bali, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. I enjoy spending time with my nephews aged 17 to 6 doing a variety of activities but especially art and storytelling with my youngest nephew.
I am really looking forward to sharing my love of learning and finding out about new things, meeting people from different places and sharing experiences. Working in an International School which caters for children from around the world and across the ages is an amazing opportunity different from any other school I have taught in before.
I look forward to meeting you all in person very soon!
