I completed my BA Hons in Childhood and Family Studies at the University of Wolverhampton in the UK. I came back to Qatar where I completed my PGCE distance learning through the University of Sunderland. As part of my PGCE course I had to be employed at a school to complete my teaching training hours. This is how I became employed with Nord Anglia International School Al Khor, which at that time was Compass International School, Al Khor. I began my employment with this school as a Learning Assistant five years ago. Once I had qualified, I began teaching in a Reception class, moving onto teaching Year 1 and now teaching Year 2.
I am originally from Cape Town, South Africa, however, I have spent most of my life here in Qatar. My family moved here many years ago and still live here today in Al Khor. I thoroughly enjoy being in Qatar and now consider it my home. I myself went to an international school in Doha and I think it’s a great environment to be in for staff and students alike. It gives you an opportunity to broaden your horizons, learn new things and experience other cultures.
Whilst living here I have enjoyed having the opportunity to travel to many other countries and hope to continue to do so.
I wanted to work at NAISAK because it is a community school and is still developing. It is a wonderful opportunity to be part of this development. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the school and I believe it is so different to any of the other schools here. Everybody here is very passionate about making NAISAK one of the best schools in Qatar.
