    Corryn McBean

    Secondary English Teacher/10N Form Tutor

    Corryn McBean

I graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2010 with a 2:1 BA (hons) in English Literature. After completing my degree, I went on to train at the University of Nottingham on the GTP course in Secondary English teaching and completed the course with a PGCE. My training has equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge in pedagogy to teach and support a diverse range of students.

I have worked in inner city schools in Nottingham in the UK across the Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 curricula. Working in city schools means that I have worked with students from a broad spectrum of social and cultural backgrounds, therefore further enriching my understanding of young people.

    Stephen Newnham

    Secondary Mathematics Teacher/9N Form Tutor

    Stephen Newnham

My education was delivered through DESS and Doha College, before moving to the UK to complete a Degree and secondary teaching qualification through the University of Hertfordshire. I am also an RYA-certified sailing instructor. I ran the Regatta Sailing Academy in Doha for a year after finishing school, and have worked between training opportunities for Caterham car designing and producing specialised car parts, as well as for the Association of Science Teachers in the UK.

My experience as a teacher has taken me through the ranks at Goffs School in England, where we had an excellent team, always striving to be the best performing school in the county, as well as constantly giving students opportunities to aspire to achieve great things after formal education has finished. Our department finished in my last year with outstanding results, putting us in the top 4% nationwide for results based on value added performance of students.

    Sudipta Chakravorty

Secondary Science and Mathematics Teacher/9A Form Tutor

You can tear down a piece of paper to the smallest possible piece but still not see what it is actually made of. What I love about Chemistry is that the sense of discovery never ends. And NAISAK provides the perfect environment for this. I am on my third year at NAISAK and I have felt motivated and valued from the beginning of my time here, since September 2014. I completed my graduation in Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Having then completed my Masters in Organic Chemistry, as a young student, I began pouring my knowledge into mini-experiments in the kitchen and garden. My career in education began when I first moved to Qatar 20 years ago. Ever since, my passion for teaching has grown and led me to complete my PGCE in Secondary Education from Sunderland University, UK.

    Jamil Rawat

    Secondary Science Teacher

    Jamil Rawat

My name is Jamil Rawat and I am looking forward to joining the Secondary School Science team this year. During my younger years, I helped young people in the capacity of a youth worker and sports coach. This led me into teaching as I wanted to combine my passions for helping young people and science. I completed my Undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of York and my PGCE at Edgehill University. I have been teaching at a school in the North West of England for 3 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed working at this school as it is very family orientated. I feel this school has given me the valuable skills and knowledge needed to move onto the next step of my career at NAISAK.
