I have always enjoyed a variety of sports, in particularly football. Last year in Qatar, I was lucky enough to attend many football matches, watching Al Khor and Al Sadd, along with attending the Qatar Tennis Open watching Djokovic and Nadal battle it out for the title. This year I am looking forward to watching the World Cycling Championships in Doha, another fantastic event being held in Qatar.
My enjoyment of sport led me to study, both my undergraduate degree and my PGCE, in sport and physical education. The passion I have for sport hasn’t stopped there, I have now enrolled, and begun, my Masters (MSc) course at the University of Birmingham studying Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy. Whilst studying, I hope to put the new knowledge from my course into my teaching practice and see even more great successes from tournaments which our NAISAK teams will participate in.
NAISAK holds the same beliefs as myself, to be genuinely ambitious and to provide the highest quality learning; this is why I wanted to work at NAISAK as I always strive to be the best I possibly can be. The school breeds a positive learning culture and I am very glad to be a part of the school. My primary goal this year is to ensure that all of the students I teach enjoy their learning experiences. I want to allow the children to explore their physical capabilities and help them become secure with new skills they will learn.
After having a fantastic first year at NAISAK, I am very much looking forward to the second! This year is going to be extremely diverse, teaching from Foundation 1 all the way through to Year 9. I am delighted to get to know even more students throughout the school. I am also very excited to be able to provide new learning experiences to the children, in particular fencing, which all the PE department have been learning to teach recently.
