I joined the school as my husband was employed as a High School teacher at St. Andrews. I am a busy mum of two boys, age 7 and 4, and three days in the week I work as a Librarian in the school. I see my work more as a hobby than just something I ‘have to do’. It gives me so much pleasure seeing children coming in and wanting to read. When new books arrive and are put on display, within days they are all gone! That gives me the greatest satisfaction of my job. In my spare time I love spending time with my husband and two boys and when I get a few minutes to myself, I love to read or exercise. We spend our holidays between our families in the Netherlands and Greece, though our goal for next year is travel to more destinations in Southeast Asia and explore this side of the world.
As a workplace I can say that the overall atmosphere among staff is very good. In my case, I feel that the management is supportive and appreciative, which is essential for a happy place to work. The children seem very well supported in school, especially if they have some learning difficulties. I also like the school being relatively small and that it feels like a community in itself.
