I have been teaching at St. Andrews International School Bangkok since August 2010. This is my first international posting and I have thoroughly enjoyed working here. St. Andrews is a great school with a fantastic ethos. My decision to work at St. Andrews is based on its holistic view of education along with its inclusive curriculum. I previously taught in Year 1 for three years and I am now currently the Year 2 Leader where I am responsible for planning meetings, curriculum development, communication with parents and other day-to-day management issues along with my teaching commitments.
Before moving to Thailand, I completed a Primary PGCE with QTS at Leeds Metropolitan University where I was trained by four outstanding schools. I hold a degree in Business Management and, before becoming a teacher, I worked for various financial institutions in the UK. Alongside working in the banking industry, I worked voluntarily in primary schools for over two years where I supported the class teacher and helped out with Christmas shows, sports days and other school events. This is where my passion for teaching really started. I enjoy the challenges and rewards that the teaching profession brings.
In my spare time I have lots of different hobbies that I like to share with both my friends and family. I enjoy cycling, swimming, running and other physical activities which keep me fit and healthy. I also enjoy cooking with my wife and two children. We love to read, travel and learn about different cultures, religions and traditions.
