The Sanlitun Christmas Fayre and Christmas Wishes from our Principal.

The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun held the annual Christmas Fayre on Sunday 1st December at the school’s Primary Campus. This is the first year the event was solely organised by the team here at the British School of Beijing, Sanlitun. The Fayre was a fantastic fun-packed family day and an annual charity fund raiser open to the wider Beijing community. We were really pleased with how well the day went and this was thanks to your support.

We were really fortunate to enjoy a wonderful day for our Christmas Fayre. The sun shone, the air was clear and we welcomed over 700 people to visit the various stalls, games and activities that were on offer at school. We are thoroughly grateful to all our vendors and raffle sponsors for their superb generosity and they have truly helped to make our Christmas Fayre one to remember. In particular, a special note of thanks to key sponsors: Grand Hyatt, Genting Resorts, The Opposite House, Courtyard Marriot, Radisson Blue, The Fairmont, East and all the other individuals and organisations that contributed.

We are so pleased that we could join together in the true spirit of Christmas; of giving to others and helping those less fortunate than us, to support two worthy causes. The total amount of money raised through raffle sales, entrance fees, donations and the teacher’s activity stalls came to RMB44,820. The United Nations World Food Programme, for their deployment of food and resources to the victims of the recent super typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines will receive RMB40,000 whilst the remainder of the proceeds will support Thirst, an educational organisation who focus on the global water crisis solutions. We thank you all for joining us in supporting these two worthwhile initiatives.

On behalf of everyone here at the British School of Beijing, Sanlitun I wish you a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones and look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

Kind regards,

Lisa Milanec
