Year 3 Parents Walk Like Egyptians!

Last Friday, the children of Year 3 invited their parents along to an open afternoon and had a wonderful time sharing their amazing work from the term.

Since the beginning of term, we have been learning about Ancient Egypt in our topic, Walk Like an Egyptian. We have learnt about a huge range of different subjects, from gods to hieroglyphs, pyramids to mummies and everything in-between. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about this ancient civilization and comparing it to the lives that we lead now.

Throughout the topic, the children have created some impressive pieces of work including their own e-books on Daily Life in Ancient Egypt, wooden pyramids displaying the Egyptian social scale, video games using coding software ‘Scratch’ as well as a huge range of other projects completed at home as part of their homework. It was therefore great to have the opportunity to share these with parents and for the children to see the journey they’ve come on and the progress that they’ve made this term.

Many thanks to all of those parents who came in. We really appreciate your support and the children loved having you here. We look forward to having more opportunities to share our learning with parents in the future.
