A wonderful ‘Piggy’ filled week!

In Pre-Nursery we have been reading the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and have been enjoying a wide range of themed activities to support our learning.

We have explored how strong different materials are – by testing straw, sticks and bricks with our very own ‘wolf’( a hairdryer!). He huffed and puffed and blew straw and sick the houses down, but the bricks were just too strong!

We made our own role play area and used puppets and masks to retell the story to our friends and had a fantastic collaborative construction session in the hall – working together to create some houses of our own.

The week ended with a visit from three real piglets! The children delighted in seeing and hearing them and listening to the farmer tell us all about where they live, what they eat and how he looks after them. A truly WOW ending to our story week!
