The sun was shining, the sky was blue and the children were excited for the events that the PE department had in store for them.
With a focus on athletics, the children from Year 3 to 6 rotated around 7 different events: The 3 Spring Jump, The Shot Put, The Sprint, The 400m Run, The Football Shoot, The Obstacle Course and last but not least, The House Relay.
All afternoon, the children competed in their teams against the other houses from their year groups. Despite the heat, the children persevered through all of the activities showing determination, resilience and great team spirit.
When the moment came that everyone was looking forward to, it was the Red House that were crowned the winners of The Key Stage 2 Sports Day 2017. As a teacher, it was great to see the children remain happy and supportive of their teammates throughout the day and see the smiles on everyone’s faces when they knew they’d done their best. Well done everyone!
