Claudia Valdes

Pre-Nursery Tadpoles Class Teacher

I have worked in education for over 15 years teaching different age groups, but once I started working with children under 3, I realised that this was where my vocation and where my true passion was. I have worked in several international schools and helped establish a couple of Under 3s programmes, helping them develop their curriculum and parent education. We also started several baby groups and some of them still run in the area.

I worked first at our sister school the British School of Beijing, Shunyi  and wanted to come to the British School of Beijing, Sanlitun because I feel that in the city there is a need for school programmes offered for young children. It is a fantastic opportunity to develop a greater community where there is support for parents of very young children that often are here on their own.

Happily living in China for over a decade I have been able to really make a home for myself, blessed with amazing friends (that are more like family) a fantastic job that I am passionate about and the opportunity to continue growing as a teacher and citizen of the world. I am happy to be able to pursue my never ending quest to bake the perfect cupcake, go out for a cup of coffee and enjoy living in such a diverse country.
