I have always had a desire to work with children and used to play ‘schools’ every day as a child. At the age of 16 I completed a diploma in childcare and education; this led me to a job as a Nursery Assistant. After a few years I was determined to further my career and began my teaching degree, I then taught Reception age children for two years in an inner city school in Bristol. I loved the diversity of the city and the children I taught but I was longing to travel before it was too late. I then taught in a British School in Egypt for two years before starting my adventure in China.
I am thoroughly enjoying my time at The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun and I am excited for another action packed year.
I am definitely an outdoorsy person, I love exploring and going on adventures. Some of my family lives in Canada and I try to visit them every year. You will find me on a bike, swimming in the lake, hiking or paragliding off a mountain! I enjoy spending time with friends and family
usually sharing some delicious food and having a good chat. I enjoy exercise and try to get to the gym as much as I can. A few years ago I took on the challenge of running a marathon and hope to do it again one day. I love travelling and seeing amazing sights, I have visited the Pyramids of Giza and many of China’s attractions.
