    I completed my four-year Bachelor of Arts, Honors program at York University in Toronto, Canada before I completed my Bachelor of Education at Tyndale University College. As soon as I graduated, I was eager to take on a new adventure and challenge myself to teach in another country, which is why I applied for my first teaching position in an inner city school in London, UK.

    In 2003 I completed my Primary PGCE at St Mary’s University Strawberry Hill in London. I decided to return back to my home in Co Derry Ireland on completion and taught a Year 1 class in Belfast. During that time my eyes were opened to the different learning needs of each child in my class and taught me how to plan for these needs.

    Before becoming a teacher, I studied a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and achieved a first class. It was my interest in Educational Psychology, and my family career background that motivated me to become a teacher. I completed a PGCE at the University of Cumbria. I then undertook my first year in teaching as a Year 3 class teacher in a school in Leeds.

    Kathryn Champness

    Born in Western Australia, I completed a BA in Social Sciences at Edith Cowan University, Perth. With my degree completed, I decided to travel, stopping in London for an extended period to work as an Assistant Manager of a popular London pub. It was while working here that I decided to become a teacher and completed my Australian teaching qualifications in 2003. Upon my return to London, I quickly obtained qualified teaching status in both England and Scotland, and spent 8 rewarding years teaching in the independent and maintained sectors. During this time, I taught in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 and was a school Health & Safety Co-ordinator.

    Amanda White

    I began my teaching journey at Roehampton University, where I completed a three year Bachelor of Arts Degree in Primary Education. From a young age, I knew that I wanted to become a teacher and I was inspired by the teachers who taught me and made my learning exciting. At University, I worked within a range of classes, from Year 1 to a Year 7 specialist classes for children with autism. I was immediately overwhelmed by how rewarding it felt to see the progress of the children I was teaching.

    I studied at the University of Sunderland, England for my degree in Primary Education BA (Hons). After graduating, I spent just over three years working in a school in Newcastle, in the North East of England. I worked in EYFS, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. Although I loved my time at the school, I was very eager to develop my practice and worked as supply teacher across all year groups and a range of different schools.

    Whilst studying a Business degree in the UK, I started volunteering in local schools as a teaching assistant, working with children and mentoring older pupils in secondary schools. This led me to want to follow a path into teaching. After gaining my PGCE qualification at Kingston University, I went on to teach at a primary school in South London. There I taught Year 4 for three years, was Maths Coordinator and took a Middle Leaders course.
