In 2012 I was seconded out to the Department of Education N.I. I took up the position of Early Years Advisory Teacher. This role provided me with the opportunity to work with young children and deliver early intervention, support and capacity building sessions for parents and teachers. This was a very important stage of my career as I gained immense experience in writing IEP’s and evaluating pupil progress. I returned to the classroom in 2014 and taught Key Stage 1 for two years and was English Co-ordinator. Since April 2016, I have been back working at the Dept. of Education with the Pre School Service until my big move to Beijing.
This move will be a life changing encounter as I am travelling with my husband and three young children. I feel very lucky to be able to offer my children this opportunity to live in and experience such an enriching and culturally diverse country. I hope that they will gain an awareness and respect for the different cultures and make life-long friends during our time in Beijing. We are all very excited and counting down the days to our new adventure.
